This is the story of a honey bee swarm located at 23 Oakbriar. I live at 24 Oakbriar, and I am a bee keeper!

Notes on swarming...

Craig with his empty "bee box"

The swarm (About 4000 bees) in Mike and Laura's burning bush

Craig places the box under the swarm. If he can knock the queen into the box, the rest will follow!

Bull's eye! The queen plus half the bees land in the box. The rest soon follow.

The bees are quite calm when in a swarm and so Craig hams it up for the camera.

Craig then added 3 "honey frames" and the happy bees began to draw the wax out into honey comb

A closer look at the bees working on their new comb

Bees hard at work less than 30 minutes after the capture...

As close to a bee beard as Craig would go on his first ever swarm! Maybe next time he will try a true beard.
